My dad was a state trooper working got a little too big and they told him to lose weight or lose his job. He did lose the weight and then he got out my mother’s sewing machine and tailored his uniforms himself. He did a freak job.

I ran across this yesterday after buying a Cutie quilt frame and realizing my Janome foot pedal wasn't going to even come close to reaching. I picked up a cable from the audio dept of my local BB big box this morning. It works perfectly!!! A basic 6 ft audio stereo cable for $8. Speed adjusts and everything. Thank you so much for this video. <3

I know it will more than likely depend on how much ruffle you're wanting to make. But, I'm wondering how you determine the length your ruffled fabric needs to be when you're making a garment. In other words, I don't want to be in the middle of sewing a ruffle onto a garment and run out of the ruffle part before reaching the end of that area of the garment. 👍. I just used my ruffler foot after over 20 years ago just the other day! It's for a Bernina, so it works a little differently than yours. I don't have that plastic knob/circular thingy on it, but something else in its place. It wasn't stiff coming out of the box when it was new. Lost the directions for it so went to RUclips to find how to use it again. It really is a fun little foot to work with! I used it to make "mini pleats" for the top of a fancy laundry bag (Yeah, you can make mini pleats too!) What a fun looking bag it is! Wish I could download a photo of it! 😊

I have got a cable and connected to extend my foot padel, once I plug in the cable to my machine, machine is running automatically without stepping the padel. Could you please suggest a solution

If they are very large jeans, like a 42" waist, each leg will make an apron?

I think this is awesome! One thing, it you flip your project around so your excess material is on the outside, it will be easier to deal with the extra fabric. The extra won't be under the arm.

I found this helpful! The one thing I will say is typically I put my fabric to the left of my machine….when you were sewing the waistband casing you shoved all the ruffles in towards the machine, instead of draping the ruffles out away from the machine. That means you have to be so much more careful not to accidentally sew the other fabric. If that’s your preference that’s totally cool! But if it’s a tip that might help ya, then yay!

These tips were great. Sadly my ruffled foot doesn’t consistently pick up the fabric and I can’t seem to make the depth of the gathers bigger regardless of the setting. 🙁

Thanks so much. The physical stores do not sell good quality fabrics most of the time and you end up with a crappy looking garment you worked yourself to the bone only to end up throwing it away. But that doesn't mean there isn't good stuff you can find there. I know what I know better what to look for now.

I just watched your video and I wanted to comment on the products. The seam allowance markings on the Magic Clip was my idea. The idea was taken from me without compensation, and I have sought legal representation against Nick Gupta, owner of Taylor Seville. Mr. Gupta has refused to compensate me for any of my product development ideas that eventually went into production.

Nice camera work. Lots if men using sewing machines, nice. Have you figured outthe ratio of needed fabric for the 1-6-12 ruffle? In other words: what setting (1-6-12) needs double the fabric for the ruffle to attach to the unruffled fabric? Lets say for cotton or quilting fabric. Thx Mary.
